Amri shook his head with a smile. Showy showy showy. He simply jumped off the building and landed heavily on his feet, denting the ground a bit, but hopefully not enough to be noticeable. He needed to watch how much of his strength he revealed to her, otherwise who knew what could happen? Plus he didn't really want to anger her because he knew he wouldn't be able to kill her, at least not tonight, and he wanted no one to go back and try and take it out on his sister. At least she didn't know he had a sister. And not many people did. Their camps were always secret, and they rarely walked places together, in fact, Yuliya rarely left their camps, and that was how he liked it.
“I'd be more worried about accidentally hurting you,” he said in a patronizing voice as he walked closer, “But I accept. Go on, you can even make the first move. As long as you mean the no blood sucky stuff, that would kind of put a damper on my day.” He didn't get into any sort of position, he just stood though. He'd have to hold back otherwise his hits would send her too far away so there was no point in getting into a powerful stance. But that didn't mean he wasn't ready. His eyes tinkled and his fingers twitched, wondering if her style was as showy as her jumping or if she was a little more practical. Amri's style was pretty straight-forward: hit the thing in front of him.

"Oh, don't worry about hurting me. I'm not worried about hurting you after all." she said with a smirk. He offered to let her take the first blow and she narrowed her eyes and looked around. He must have been smarter than she thought if he wanted to take the second blow. Her upper eyebrow twitched, and she was gone. She made sure to kick up lots of dust to create a cloud. She jumped back on the roof she had greeted him from and watched. She pulled out her gun and used her sense of smell and hearing to hear exactly where he was-then fired away from him. She didn't kill her food until she had played with it enough. That was just to scare him, if it would work. It was also to see if he was bulletproof. If he was, he wouldn't be nearly as scared to someone not bulletproof.
Ava loved using the terrain to her advantage, especially when it seemed that close combat with this guy was going to be a bad idea. "Yeah, Thanks by the way. I do love being first you know. And I promise, no blood sucky stuff." she said, amusement ringing in her voice.

He coughed when she purposely kicked up a dust cloud. Where the hell was she going? He was expecting more of a physical sparring, not her going wherever the hell she wanted and attacking him from afar. He ducked to the side when he heard the shot though. Why the hell was she firing at him? And did she really have enough ammunition that she could afford wasting bullets in practice? “Hey!” he shouted out, “Getting bullets in me is on the same page as blood suckiness when it comes to the dampness of my day!” Really! The nerve of her...well, maybe he wouldn't hold back as much as he'd been planning...he could show off just a little bit.
He looked around him for something he could use as a weapon, and his eyes rested on the streetlamp, perfect. He sauntered over to it and pulled it to the ground, and realizing he wouldn't need to use the whole thing, it was rather overkill, he twisted off the top part of it, the part that actually had the lamp on it, which flickered out quickly. He held it in one hand and tapped it on the other slightly, pretending to be nonchalant, and then he reared his arm back and threw it at her, though he knew that even if it hit her, being a vampire, it would only stun her for a few moments.

Ava placed her pistol back in her holder, smiling as only Ava could smile, "Oh, re-lax big guy. Don't get your panties in a knot. I wasn't aiming for you. If I had you'd be dead. Or at least in intense pain." she added with a laugh, as if it was obvious and he should have seen it in the first place. She watched as he tore the street lamp off the ground and threw it at her. She dodged it easily, though the wind of it brushed her face. She nodded, "That's what I'm talking about." she smirked.
She jumped off her roof and narrowed her eyes, walking around him in a circle about 50 feet away from him like a lioness stalking a zebra. This looked like it was going to be fun, he obviously had much greater strength than her-which explained his cockiness... Hand-to-hand combat probably wouldn't be as easy as usual, but Ava liked the challenge.
She flicked the hair behind her shoulder and held her hands at her side, poised to grab her pistol if need be. Though she wasn't intending to cheat by using it, she preferring shooting him to having her body ripped in two. She wet her lips slightly and raised a single eyebrow, "Lay it on me, tough guy. Give me your best shot. And try something I'm not suspecting, will you? I'm getting bored already!" she called out, in a taunting and laughing voice.

He raised his eyebrow with a smirk as he walked back to the streetlamp and ripped a larger piece off of it, tossing it between his hands. He wasn't the most subtle of fighters, he either went big or did nothing at all. On one hand, he liked to show off and wanted to show her what he could do, but on the other hand, he didn't want her to know all his moves if he ever had to actually fight her. Then again, he was learning her moves also, so it might be a fair trade-off, especially since his type of moves were more obvious and hers weren't. It'd be helpful to have an edge over a prominent vampire.
He walked a bit closer to her but not enough to close the distance between them, acting deliberately and slowly. He never saw the point in rushing fights. He liked to take his time and enjoy them, like he was a cat playing with a mouse. If he killed it too quickly, then the fun would be over and all he'd have was a meal when what he wanted was an experience. What he needed was to get closer to her. Her advantage was range and his was close-combat, so he needed to distract her while he got closer. Thankfully he had something like that up his sleeve.
In one solid movement he swung the streetlamp at the ground, causing a ripple in the cement like a rock being thrown in a pond that was like a miniature earthquake that would knock anyone off their feet, and in the same movement he pushed himself off the other end of the lamp to launch himself forward right at her.

Ava was surprised to see him grab a bit of the same weapon he had used before. Didn't she ask him to do something she didn't expect? Then again she wasn't exactly expecting the same move twice-but it was still pretty boring. She shook her head, seriously, was he that stupid he couldn't think of another move. Then he slapped it down on the cement and she fell backwards, pushing her torso back up. A smirk was on her face and a twinkle in her eye.
This was new, maybe he wasn't as dumb as she had assumed earlier. But then, he was much too strong to actually have too much brain in his head. If she'd learned anything in her few years-it was that when brawn went up, brain went down. It was a sad fact-but all too true. She watched as he flung himself right for her and she rolled out of his path. It would not been pleasant if he had landed right on her, would it?
She needed to find a weapons. She wouldn't be able to harm him just with her bare hands, so she pushed herself up from the cement and ran back where the big guy had pushed himself off of. There she saw a few bits of the street lamp that had been left from him tearing it apart. She found a smaller shard, about a foot long, a half an inch thick and two inches wide. Perfect for her to use as a dagger. She held it like a knife, a smirk on her face she she stood there in the remains of the steetlamp with her weapon. She then ran, though it was unwise to run with a knife-Ava didn't really care. She ran until she reached her opponent, only about two or three metres from him and she circled him with narrowed eyes and her new weapon poised. "Impressive. Something interesting I like it."

He grinned at her. “What did you expect? A boring lump of muscle?” People so often assumed that being big and strong was the only impressive thing about him, and he wasn't very smart, but he was smart about fighting. And he hadn't just trained to fight, but he had experience fighting in the cities of Ukraine where he had discovered his power. He knew how to fight and deflect and parry, it was the reason he was still alive and people still underestimated him. It was like years of underdog movies had trained people to discount the people who were really strong.
He really hoped she wasn't planning to attack him with that dagger though, she'd embarrass herself by going straight for him. Her best shot was long distance and he she'd figured that out, but apparently she was giving it a test run. He leaned over to pick up a block of cement that had been ripped out and flung all this way from his previous mood, it was all the weapon he'd need. He tossed it up and down in his hand, as if he was daring her to come closer, and he was. The predator was in his eyes and the smirk as one his face. “Getting ready to play or do you need to take a cat-nap?”

Ava smiled, "Actually, yes. That's exactly what I was expecting." she gave a light laugh. It was quite obvious now that Ava did not give a care in the world if she insulted somebody. In fact, sometimes she went out of her way to insult someone. For most of her mortal life she had shuffled around people, being nice and trying to get them to like her. Though no one wanted anything to do with the timid little girl that wore the same three dirty dresses everyday for years and flinched every time someone raised their hand near her. So she stopped caring about other people's feelings. It was much easier to chase them away than chase after them. Perhaps it even helped her let go a little bit of the pain.
"Though a cat nap does sound inviting, this looks like much more fun." her eyes followed the block of cement he was juggling around. He was pretty strong, stronger than her-which wasn't something she dealt with, but practice makes perfect. She was a little less confident than before at attacking head on. She needed to distract him and get behind him so she'd be able to dodge him better than he'd be able to aim at her. She wondered if she'd be able to hold onto him with one arm around her neck, but she assumed that would be a very risky thing to do-a bad idea if she wanted to keep all her limbs intact tonight. It'd be best to keep her new dagger on hand, but only for defensive moves.
Still, what could she do long range? Shoot him? No fun. No fun at all. She could always just wound him, shoot him in the knee or something and then have her fun up close. But then there wouldn't be much training involved, even if it did sound like a lot of fun. And how was she going to distract him? She'd already done two of her favourite distractions, dust clouds and shooting away from him. Now was time for some creativity. Maybe she could pretend to do a certain move, and do something else? She still wasn't sure how to go long range though. She could throw stones, but was was pathetic and wouldn't do much-except probably put him in a fit of laughter. That actually might be a good distraction, but not ideal as it hurt her pride.
So after about a minute of her circling him, she sighed and gave a shrug. She backed away a little until her back was against a pole holding up a glass awning. She crossed her arms, with the crude blade still in her hand. She wondered if this would work, if it didn't then, it was always worth a shot. She yawned and flexed her shoulders a little, "On second thought... Maybe I will take you up on that nap." she said with a twinkle of mischief in her eyes.

Of course a nap sounded inviting to her, sparring with him took energy. She'd probably worn herself out and was trying to retain her dignity but it was alright. It wasn't her fault that he was a good fighter. He was a gentlemen, he could let her take a rest, and take the opportunity to find out more about her. It wasn't everyday a guy met an incredibly hot vampire girl, and she was tall enough that he didn't completely have to look down on her, that was a bonus. Plus her fighting style was also pretty hot, she was very confident, unafraid of hurting him, and there was something that was very attractive about that. He needed to find out who this girl was.
He walked closer to her, knowing there was nothing for him to be afraid of. He had the advantage in close range for two reasons: first he was a better fighter at close range, and two, the closer he got to a girl, the more his seduction seemed to affect them. Therefore he wasn't afraid, he just waltzed closer to her, rubbing the back of his neck as he said, “Yeah, go ahead, I won't get you while you're eyes are closed.” If they had actually been fighting he might have attempted to attack her while her eyes were closed, seeing as he didn't believe in fair fights, not if they were to the death. But they were just sparring.
“So what's your name and why haven't I seen you?” Of course he knew the answer to the second part. She was a vampire and only out at night, and Amri slept a rather solid fourteen hours a day and was rarely out at night. Every once in awhile he'd go out at other times of day but he was mostly a late afternoon kind of guy. But he did want to know her name though. Who knew, maybe if he was caught by vampires he could pretend she was his friend or something and get away. Names were useful things to know.

He really thought she wanted a nap? What part of super stamina and night stalking blood suckers did he not understand? He obviously didn't have as much experience with vampires as he tried to let on-or he was just really stupid. In any case, she was getting rather tired of sparring. She had already decided against killing him, at least for the moment. Perhaps some general intelligent banter could be mildly entertaining. Then again-this speciman did not entirely scream intelligent.
He promised not to get her while she had her eyes closed and she smirked, "Oh, well that's very kind, and I hate to have to correct you-but you couldn't get me, even with my eyes closed." she said with another twinkle in her ice blue eyes. She doubted he'd agree with her on that fact-but it was quite true that her heightened senses enabled her to fight, even with her eyes closed. Even if he was a silent walker (which he was not) she could still hear his heart beat before he could even get within a few metres of her-let alone touch her.
Then he asked for her name. Nice try, big guy she thought, she only gave out her name for two reasons. One, to gain trust and Two, to cause fear-as her name carried a heavy reputation around here. Besides, if he knew her name, it was a very good chance he'd heard of her. She had discovered there were three types of people that knew her name, people that wanted her help, people that wanted nothing to do with her and people that wanted her head. In any case, she didn't want anything to do with any of those people unless she was planning on drinking their blood or getting something from them in return.
Then again, she did want to have an interesting time tonight. Maybe he did or maybe he didn't know who she was-but maybe, just maybe his reaction could or couldn't be entertaining. So, instead of changing the subject she gave a shrug and a smirk. "I'd assume you haven't seen me around because those people usually wind up dead soon afterwards-and you're not dead. So... I'd say you don't quite fit that profile." she walked around the pole she had been leaning on, then pulled herself up onto the glass awning behind her, turning back and laying stomach down with her hands and chin resting on the metal frame looking towards him. "Name's Ava, and yours?"

She sure was a confident one, and maybe that's why he didn't like hanging around vampires, because he knew they had a reason to be. It was always slightly unnerving to be around a person who just might be able to kill him if they tried. If he was going to die, he was going to die getting shot in the back as he pushed Yuliya up over that wall, and his last words would be telling her to just run and leave him, but never go home, not to that place.
He raised his eyebrows at her name though. Ava? That name sounded familiar. It was a leader of one of the gangs...oh, the Night Walkers, yes, them. Huh. He would've expected her to be a bit more killy and considerably less hot. Then again, maybe people only joined that gang cause she was hot, that would make sense considering it was a pretty big gang. He himself would definitely be more willing to join a gang headed by a kick-ass bitch than a control-freak guy who would tell him what to do.
“Oh...so you're that Nighttime Walk gang leader thing. I've got a tip for you, Night Walkers sounds all creepy and stupid, change it to Free Beer gang and I might just consider sending in an application.” He probably actually would have attempted to join that gang had it not been for Yuliya. But she would never be accepted into any gang. She was a liability. She couldn't fight, and most things scared her. She also seemed to really dislike vampires, so that wouldn't do. He wondered what it'd be like to be in one of those gangs, to have a lot of people who had your back and to not have to spend all day searching for food. It might be nice.
“I'm Amri Dukhkin',” he said with a sweeping bow, “heir to the Dukhkin' fortune.” Everyone else seemed to have stories of how they grew up in poor, broken homes, but Amri was quite different. He'd grown up in a manor in the Ukrainian countryside with servants to answer his beck and call and his own credit cards from the time he was ten. Coming to this place made him realize the other side of life he was missing.

Overconfident prick. Was Ava's first thought of his introduction. He had too much confidence for his ability and his standing in the hierarchy of this place. If this were a kingdom, Ava'd be the evil queen and he'd be a pitiful mercenary. Not even a knight considering the fact that he was not under her command. A pitiful little peasant she could squash up and hang in the gallows. That made Ava smile a little, that'd be fun-to be a queen in the times of knights and 'warlocks'. Perhaps she should start requesting her fellows to address her as Your Majesty? That too made Ava want to chuckle.
In her opinion though, she made a pretty decent gang. Many people that joined assumed her to be a cocky, stuck up, demanding, bossy bitch-but that wasn't the case at all. She hadn't reached her title by making everyone hate her (or at least, not the people she wanted on her side). She reached it with her talents as well as her ability to give out orders. As long as you respected her, Ava would lay off you generally. She ran her gang well and got them everything they needed, and a little more. That was why it was large. She offered them what no other gang did, luxuries and food for all species. She doubted the other gangs were comfortable with Vampires going out on a killing spree every night-except for maybe the Alliance-they couldn't seem care less what their members were doing in the dark as long as it wasn't to other members and they showed up for battle.
She laughed at his comment about the name Night Walkers. "The name describes my gang, and why would I even conceder changing it for someone that normally my gang would eat for dinner. You wouldn't last one minute in my gang." she laughed, it was rather true as well. Her gang held some of the best killers. Shadow elementals that could pretty much disappear in the dark, Werewolves that could rip his head off with one claw and Vampires that could suck him dry in less than a minute. He'd be an underdog in her gang, and probably die because of it. She knew that the little meek ones joining her gang for 'protection' didn't usually last the night. And she could care less, she wanted the best of the best-not pitiful little animal elementals that think they can go through the motions to be considered powerful.
Hmm, and he was royalty? Explained his overconfident prickiness. She had grown up in one of the worst parts of New York City, in a shabby little house with two bed rooms that was practically falling apart. If she asked for anything, she was hit for it. She soon learned you couldn't just ask for something-you took it. It was a surprise she hadn't been arrested for simply shoplifting, as she had done in pretty much since she was ten years old to keep herself fed. But sometimes she swore she saw the shopkeeper catch her, but not say anything. Too bad for him, because she ate off his dime until she was fifteen years old.
And Amri, Amri was a strange name. She hadn't ever heard of him before-which only strengthened her opinion that he wasn't anyone important in here. He wasn't in any gang, except maybe the Alliance, but she could care less at the moment if he was in the Alliance. But he definitely not in the Pack or the Earth Circle-and she could smell a rebellion member by the scent of old books and idiots. "Well, Amri. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you-but yo be quite honest I'm pretty much indifferent about the matter. And, to add-there are no heirs in here. There are kids the world doesn't like anymore so they dumped you in here. Like they're actually going to give you any fortune, heir or not... If you even last that long in here."

“Oh really?” he said at her assumption he wouldn't last in her gang. It seemed like no one ever estimated him right. The weak supernaturals, the ones that couldn't fight, like telepaths and weak elementals and shit like that were completely terrified of him and would run in the opposite direction, and the stronger ones thought all he was was a big lump of super strength, but there was more. Borka obabas weren't just about strength, they were about being warriors, that's what borka obaba meant, “Feared warrior.” He was descended from the Cossacks, who were among the best warriors in the medieval world and had the best cavalry. But here he was just a jock. Some idiot guy who got through high school with nerds writing his essays.
“I think I could hold my own, you worry about your own skin,” he commented patronizingly, making it a point of looking down on her, oh that was always fun. She probably thought she was all untouchable, unshakable, but he always managed to push people to that limit. He'd just have to wait and see.
“See, that's where you're wrong. I'm sure you expected me to have some sob story about being raised on the wrong side of the tracks with parents that hate me, but I'm sure you have that story covered. Me? I was raised in a mansion in the countryside with parents that answered my every whim and begged me not to come. I chose to come here.” He doubted that there was anyone else who had chose to come here of their own accord, it separated him from them, gave him something to hold onto. Of course his story was not the happy fairytale he painted it to be just to anger all the people here. His parents had loved him but he hated them. He had shouting matches with them everyday that were pointless because they never listened to him and simply insisted he was perfect all the time and Yuliya was broken. But that didn't mean he couldn't alter it slightly just to rub it in the faces of people who thought they were getting the better of him.

Ava laughed, shaking her head as he spoke. She didn't assume anyone 'round here had the same life as her, though she hadn't guessed that he was so wealthy. If she'd heard the story before meeting the man, she'd actually assume he was more of a pretty boy. "Oh, so rich, spoiled and stupid. Now it all makes sense." she laughed, pushing herself up from the awning and letting her legs dangle off the edge like before. She smiled down at him as if he was a friendly child, "See, you're weak. You grew up coddled and nursed from loving parents and got whatever you want with a mere flick of your hand. Life in here? This is the easiest I've ever had my life. I grew up living like this-you're still learning, my young padawan." she said with a hint of amusement at her last comment.
She tilted her head a small amount and gave a little sigh and a fake shrug. "And I'm afraid you're stupid because nobody in their right mind would actually choose to be here. Except for perhaps me, though I think I'd prefer to still be out there, raising hell and feasting on humans rather than petty little supernaturals. Humans really are a delicacy for my kind." she sighed and crossed her hands over her chest, "Like the difference between no-name ketchup and Heinz, or fast food to five-star restaurants.". Ava wasn't obsessed with blood, but it was her food-if he had to deal with cheap food compared to the mouth-watering steak that sat just outside the walls-then he'd wish that he got to have a few more before getting chucked in here as well.

“Ah, so I was right, you do have your precious little sob story,” he said with a laugh as she shook his head. This place was so full of people who felt entitled to pity because they had parents with drug problems, or maybe they died, or maybe they were poor. They claimed they were strong because they had survived it. But he knew if they were really strong they wouldn't talk about it all the time. It wasn't like he was quick to tell anyone that his childhood had been overshadowed by doctors and the knowledge that your parents were loveless idiots who blatantly preferred one child over the other. Parents of kids with disorders were supposed to give unconditional love, they were supposed to love their kid no matter what, but that wasn't the case.
“And of course people always assume rich people have never seen danger.” He couldn't help but roll his eyes at her. The fact that he'd hated his parents had driven him to the streets and into the wrong crowd as he was desperate for them to think he did something wrong, that was part of his experience that had kept him alive so long. But he was okay with her thinking he was stupid for wanting to be here. At least she came to that conclusion rather than immediately questioning him as to why he'd chosen to come out of his own accord. “I'm actually not a fan of five-star restaurants,” he said in a matter-of-fact voice, “best food I ever had was a two-dollar taco, but I think that had more to do with the fact that munchies hit hard when you're high and everything tastes like rainbows.”
