Howls of satisfaction echoed in the small building just off the main room. It must have been an office of some sort for some big shot, now there was only a blanket and some empty food cans. And some juicy supernaturals. It had to have been an hour or so past midnight, so the entire Camp was quiet-then again-it was always quiet. A few howls of werewolves could be heard in the distance, but other than crickets it was silent most of the time. Except now.
Avianna had gone out with three other members of her gang, one was a sort of friend of hers, a vampire named Derike. If she needed something done, Derike could usually handle it-and tonight was a bit of a celebration or ceremony. He had agreed to come along with her. With her and Derike was another member, a female werewolf she believed, and a young thirteen year old vampire. She had been turned a few months ago and this was her first outing with the gang since she had joined.
They had been stalking down the main street, looking for some prey. With three vampires in the group, it wasn't hard to find two young inmates, one girl must have been fourteen, the other male fifteen or sixteen. Laughing they easily trapped the two fools inside their own hideout. Derike easily trapped the girl in one corner and Ava had the male all to herself.
After she had a nice, long feed she wiped some stray off her lips, and turned to Derike and the rest of her members, "I'm going to go for a walk, I'll see you all back at the school." she said nonchalantly, as if they were playing a game rather than murdering two children. Ava was dressed in a navy blue top and jeans, with a leather belt with her personal handgun attached. She wore sturdy, leather boots and her hair was down and around her face.
She stepped out of the ridiculously small building into the prime of the night. The moon shone above brightly in the sky, not that Ava needed it. Her night vision at a vampire was spectacular, and could see around her as easily as a human in daylight. She walked down the street quietly at first, but adrenaline was still rushing through her veins as well as the energy of a feeding.
So instead of a quiet walk, she decided to do some climbing instead. She climbed the short, one story building beside her easily, barely making an effort for her strength and agility she had harnessed since her change. She ran down the building and jumped to the next, as fast as a vampire could run. She felt herself smiling and she did this up and down the street for almost ten minutes until she was panting a little and she took a rest. She sat on the roof with her feet dangling off the edge, she loved this Camp. Many people hated it but she loved it. It was the only place in the world where she was in charge, where she was in power. In the outside world, she'd never have respect. Ever. Here, she was feared. It was an easy decision on her part for where she'd rather live. Good food, good company, what could go wrong?

His hands were in his pockets as he strolled through the night, moonlight on his hair and his blue eyes shining through the darkness. At first he'd thought his blue eyes were part of being a borka obaba...but no, they were just part of being him. He looked up at the sky and wondered for a moment what it would be like to be a werewolf and transform every night into a killing machine, but no, he liked what he was. He was powerful yet in control of himself. He could never want to be a werewolf. He could end up hurting his sister and that was always the top priority. That was why he had come to this hell-hole in the first place instead of being pampered at home by his parents who had always made it obvious he was the favorite child.
Normally he wouldn't even be coming this way. After all, Yuliya was at the edge of the forest at nighttime. But Yuliya was unusually not scared of werewolves, and a few times he'd seen her manage to calm them down though he had thought that not possible. And he'd heard that a new shipment of supplies was coming in the next morning and he wanted to stake out a good position, even if it meant goings near were the vampires were. He was not fond of them but he'd taken a few out. A wooden stake was sticking awkwardly out of his back pocket just in case, unlike the wussies who just carried around crosses and shit like that. There was no god, so he could kill who he pleased, vampires being at the top of the list.

Avianna heard footsteps, they were far away, down the street. She could hear everything on the street. Not only did it echo, but vampire hearing really did have it's perks. Her body went in an alert position, pinpointing the location. Down the street she saw the young man, probably around the age of 19. She quickly got up, making sure to stay as silent as possible. Quietly, with feline-like movements, she leaped from roof to roof until she was only a few meters from him.
There was something about him that was... strange. Pleasant, though. Like a tasty inmate after a week without feeding, almost irresistible to smell. But she had just fed, the taste of that sixteen year old's blood was still on her tongue. But he... he smelled delicious. She quickly jumped the next couple roofs until she was ahead of him. She saw he was tall, and muscular. Not the kind of person she'd usually find so... Wait, dammit, he had a wooden stake. So he obviously wasn't the vampire welcoming type. Then again, almost no one around here was.
She slipped off the roof anyway, landing elegantly a few meters in front of him, facing him with bright eyes. She gave a sickly sweet smile, a single eyebrow raised as she said, "Well, well, well. Look at what we have here." she said slowly, "Big bad wolf is lost in the forest when the little red riding hood is out."

His eyes widened slightly when the girl jumped in front of him, but he gathered himself quickly. Whatever she was, there was just one of her, “Well as I recall, little red riding hood had to be saved by the...wood choppy guy.” He took a yawn as he agreed with sentiment that if she wanted to appear intimidating, she should not paint him as the big bad wolf, seeing as he was the one who was the strong one. Then again, in this situation, he was the big bad wolf. He was bigger and stronger, always had been. Since he'd been here, lots of people had gone to him looking for a fight, expecting him to be a dumb lump of muscle. But while he was dumb in an academic sense, he could fight well, and no one ever seemed to realize that.
He stretched his arms nonchalantly. “You know when that truck is getting here? I could really go for some refried beans, and I'd like to tell the guy to bring some smokes next time, I've had to go cold turkey,” he said as if he was just passing someone on the street. But once he started thinking about it he got a really big craving for a cigarette...and a beer...god damn that would just be fantastic...but of course they never sent those things cause everyone here was underage, like people actually listened to those sort of rules. He'd been smoking and drinking since he was fifteen.
He looked up at the girl, not really recognizing her. She was pretty, and although he had been the type of person to make a move on any pretty girl he saw, lately he'd decided to make sure they weren't trying to kill him before he started flirting. It made things awkward when he was making out with a girl only to have her try and bite his neck. It sort of ruined the moment.

"The Huntsman? Or the Lumberjack? The story has many different endings. In some the wolf gets away, most of them not. And let's just say-I have a little huntress in me. I'm pretty sure I can handle myself." she laughed, the real question was-could he handle himself against her? She really did like those modernized versions of fairy tales.
"Oh, that thing? I don't know, nor do I care. And why the hell would you want cigarettes anyway? The smell alone would attract werewolves and vampires from all over." She took a few steps towards him, her eyes faintly narrowed in curiosity.
She scanned him for threatening movements, and then, faster than lightening was behind him with his wooden stake in her hand and backing away from him with laughter in her voice. "But then again-it looks like you're covered for them!". She broke it in half and tossed it on the ground behind her, "There. That thing was making me a bit uneasy. I've had my heart broken before, but that would just be a little too literal for me.", she gave a light laugh.
She decided she was not going to kill him, is she was hungry she might try-but she was full. Now it was just time for some fun-that's why she was out here, wasn't it, and not trapped back at the school with all the other night walkers? Why waste a perfectly good time by braking necks? Besides, he was barely a threatening guy, she could smell he was no werewolf or fellow vampire. There were few other things that were as strong as her that were not a werewolf or vampire. Actually-she had no idea what he was. She didn't recognize his scent at all. He was definitely foreign, she could tell in his voice, but he was definitely a rarer species of supernatural-as she had killed most of the common types in her four year stay here.

“What, you think I'm going to go skulk in a little hole and deny myself anything pleasurable just cause I'm here? How silly,” he said incredulously. He was very much a life life how you want it cause there's no such thing as the afterlife kind of guy. Everyone else seemed to think it was worth it to be a good person, but he did most things selfishly. Even caring for his baby sister was really a selfish act, he did it cause she made him happy. Hell, he couldn't think of a single thing he'd done that wasn't for his own benefit, and that was how things should be.
He was slightly uneasy to have his stake taken away, but he couldn't let the vampire, as he now knew her to be, know that. “Yeah I'm not a fan of crosses and holy water. Things don't work if you don't believe in them.” He shifted his feet to face her again, wondering if she was planning on trying to kill him. Instinct told him she would've killed him already if she'd wanted to, but he also knew that people, including him, liked to play with their food, especially when he was the one trespassing. “Oh I'd never want to break your heart. Maybe a leg or two but a heart? How vulgar,” he said in an amused voice but keeping his guard up. One swift punch from him would land her half a mile away. He needed to keep his eye on her in case she was planning on surprising him, but he wasn't too worried. He'd killed quite a few vamps since he'd been here.

"Fine, go ahead. Die for all I care. Actually-now that I think about it. I don't care." she rolled her eyes and smiled a little, "How silly of me.". It had been more than once she had come across her victims because they had set up fires. They were like marker points to find stupid, idiotic kids trying to stay warm. Cigarette smoke might not be as smoky, but the smell would definitely be enough to attract her attention. She remembered her small time in the outside world as a vampire, in New York. It was quite suffocating just to walk down the streets there. Then again, that was four years ago. She didn't remember much other than that. Except for her father, she remembered every moment of that as if it were yesterday.
"Just because you don't believe in them doesn't mean they don't work. I mean, for years no one ever believed we existed, but here we are." she shrugged, of coarse, she had only been, what, six or seven when supernaturals came out? It was older than most people had been around here, but she still couldn't really remember what life had been like without supernaturals. It hadn't really been a bother to her, she had been completely human at time and had been more concerned with school and friends and... other things. "But still, don't go around using those silly things if you don't believe in them.", she added. Last thing she wanted was another idiot with a cross running around that actually knew how to use them. They were annoying enough as it was, getting burned by damn necklaces those stupid kids wore.
"Oh, you wouldn't hurt little 'ol me, would you? Why would you wanna go breaking my legs? That's a rather mean thing to do." she narrowed her eyes and began to walk around him, trying to make sure he wasn't planning on doing something stupid-like actually trying to break her legs. 'Cause that's just piss her off, and one thing no one wanted was a pissed off vampire. That was like punching a tiger in the face, or a bee's nest. They'd just get you back much worse than you got them. She was a vampire, she could heal a broken leg in just over a minute at most. And now? With fresh blood in her veins? It'd take much less time than that.
She watched him like a cobra, waiting to strike. He also watched her in a similar way. She could hear his heart beat, perhaps a little faster than a normal heartbeat. She glanced from him to her gun, attached to her belt. It was always good to double check that she had it. She remembered once, she actually forgot it, and in the middle of a fight she couldn't grab it. The fight went fine but she felt a little silly afterwards. So now, she checked constantly. She remembered loading it just after sunset, with her silver bullets. Half the time, guns were useless on these people without silver bullets. Wouldn't work on vamps or werewolves... and they were the most dangerous. It was good though, for her that they were rare to find lying around or even in the supplies trucks.

“See, that's where you're wrong. Religion is one of those things that just doesn't work if you don't believe. Gods only protect those who believe in them, so he wouldn't want to protect me,” he said with a shrug. He'd been told he was going to hell many times, mostly by the prissy little church-going girls at school, but that hadn't stopped them from throwing their panties at him. Just cause he'd been in a street gang and drank and smoked and did drugs and drove a motorcycle and all the things you weren't supposed to do. And he, unlike most people here, had killed someone before he came here, but he'd never gotten caught.
“Oh, you know, just a precaution. I'm not a fan of being chased, I prefer being the predator,” he said with a gleam in his eyes. He remembered that first person he'd killed. He'd gone to the city with his gang and this boy had been bothering them. Amri single-handedly chased him down the alleyway and cornered him where he'd put up a fight and shot his arm, but Amri punched his face to the back of his skull and that's when he knew he had powers that others didn't have. Of course, he was still his parents' golden boy who could do no wrong and was strong and handsome and charming and chatted at parties while his sister was locked in the backroom. His parents' friends didn't even know they had a daughter.
He'd clenched his fists without realizing it and looked down awkwardly to unclench them. That's why he generally tried to avoid thinking about his parents, always got him off his guard. “So are you planning on play a game of tag, or are you just window-shopping?” he asked. It wasn't a new thing to have a vampire girl check him out, but it was one of the more awkward situations in his life. Those were among the shortest of his flings, of which he'd had many.

Avianna laughed softly, raising a single eyebrow faintly. "You're not implying that I'm chasing you, are you? I don't chase, I find and I kill. Almost no chasing involved whatsoever. And if I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead and on the floor by now." she shrugged glanced to the floor, "And you're not on the floor. But if you do try and break my legs... Trust me, I will not be so kind."
[/b] she said darkly, she was not going to chase anybody tonight. Ava liked being a predator as well, but not the typed that someone might say 'chased'. Chasing was such an ugly word. She hunted, she tracked her prey down and sucked their veins dry. Chasing implies some sort of... effort on her part. When she finished talking it seemed like he was distracted, his fists clenched and she tensed her muscles for a moment-in case he was going to strike her, but he didn't. Instead he said something rather absurd to her. She laughed, she had to laugh. The idea of her randomly picking off a guy from the streets was not Ava. She may be a sadistic serial killer, but she was no slut. "No no I..." she couldn't speak through her laughter, she ended up having to hold her sides. "Sorry, that is just really. No. I am doing neither of these things anytime soon. To be quite honest, I was trying to figure out how anyone would be dumb enough to walk down here with nothing but a wooden stick to protect them at this time of night." A lie of coarse, but completely believable. If Ava was good at anything, it was creating plausible lies. Amri shrugged. “Maybe it's cause nothing here really poses a threat to me,” he said with a wink. He knew saying that would probably piss her off, seeing as supernaturals always liked to claim they were the most powerful, but the fact was his type had the most physical strength. He could punch through steel and perform an infinite amount of upside-down pull-ups and while that didn't affect how well he was able to kill a vampire, it sure as hell meant he could get them away from him and knock them unconscious. But that was part of his strength, no one ever knew what he was and so he was always underestimated. They expected some big guy who maybe had a little bit of power but what they got was pure brute strength.
Boredly, he started pacing around her in a circle, wondering if she was just going to do anything more interesting than talk about she was a vampire and he should “watch himself” and she was scary and killed people yada yada yada. If there was one thing he'd learned about supernaturals in his time here, it was that they were obsessed with the fact that they were supernaturals. It was quite odious and trying to talk to them. 'So what are your hobbies?' 'Oh, you know, being a vampire.' 'Um...what's your favorite color?' 'Red, the color of the blood I eat since I'm a vampire.' 'What kind of job do you want to have when you're older?' 'Who cares? I'm a vampire.' '…' No wonder they got shipped to places like this.
Do he decided to shake things up a bit, “I'm bored, so, tag!” he shouted as he tapped her lightly and took off in one direction, not really knowing if she'd follow him or not, and not caring either. He was not as fast as some of the supernaturals there, but his leg strength put him above Olympic racers as he propelled off the cement road into the night.

Nothing poses as a threat to him? That meant one of two things. Either he was just plain stupid and ignorant, or he knew something she didn't. Perhaps he was more powerful than he originally let on, which was quite possible. In a place like this, nothing really was what it seemed. The animals in the trees could very likely be shapeshifters and the footsteps in the dust could be from someone with an unimaginable power. Obviously there was something she wasn't telling him, but perhaps it'd be entertaining to find out.
No. He didn't just... touch her? How dare he touch her, how dare he even come close enough to touch her? Ava was not the type of person that liked having others near her, let alone touch her. She had her personal space and people that crossed it had better have a good reason. He did not have a good reason, playing tag was not a good reason. Especially when Avianna did not give him permission to play tag. So, bewildered she watched him run off, wondering what the hell possessed him to do something so utterly stupid, before racing after him.
As a vampire, she was very quick. They were very fast, so fast that they could be seen as blurs to the human eye. Instead of tagging him she decided to get him back for touching her, so as she approached at a fast speed, she stretched out her leg and leaned to the side like a baseball player getting to home base. Kicking up dirt in enormous clouds and aiming straight for his feet intending to trip him. She stopped herself quickly, and jumped to her feet. "Tag." she replied.

He smirked to himself as he ran, but it dropped as he suddenly felt something hit the back of his legs and he fell forward, barely managing to catch himself. The problem wasn't falling, the problem was that by catching himself he'd left two holes in the ground. Hopefully she wouldn't notice that, he would prefer to keep his powers secret for now so she'd underestimate him...people who underestimated him weren't afraid of short range fighting and that was where Amri was able to inflict permanent damage to a person. He'd just have to cover the holes with his feet and pretend nothing happened.
He quickly pushed himself to his feet and stood on the holes while looking back at her, wondering if she was going to take off running again. It would be rather unfair to expect him to catch her, even if he was faster than humans. Then again, she might just try to attack him since she looked rather angry, but he wasn't that worried. He was strong and just too charming for any girl to want to really hurt him. “Giving up already?” he asked with one of his trademark smirks that girls seemed to find hard to resist, or maybe it was just the face that Amri was a classic “bad boy.” Amri agreed with the general public: girls did not like nice guys.

Avianna's eyebrow flicked once again, surprised about his lack of unhappiness about the fact she just completely tripped him. She noticed he was... shorter than before. Her eyes looked down to his feet and the... well the markings below them. So that was what he was hiding, or apart of it. There was always an infinate amount of secrets someone could hide, once Ava had learned that she found more and more secrets and lies being told to her. Everything is guilty until proven innocent.
So, she returned his smirk with a slight shake of her head, "Given up? No, no. I've only just started." she then raced and jumped onto the building across the street. Lying on her back on the roof, facing him upside down with a taunting smile. "Come and get me, if you can." she challenged. She wondered if he was able to get onto the building even. It wasn't difficult for her, but she had seven years of practical gymnastics training-as well as vampire powers for most of them. She'd been able to climb these buildings for a while. Even someone able to create craters in the earth may have difficulty simply finding a way up-let alone actually be able to make the journey.
Ava didn't look for a way, so her eyes wouldn't betray the best possible route. Ava was amazing at planning routes to different locations, whether it be holds on a building or safe passage through enemy territory. She believed she was so observant because of her past. When she was young she always observed when her father was the most intoxicated and when he was the least aggravated. It was important to her to always avoid him when she knew he was in an unhappy mood. Now she observed everything she could, everywhere. It had become quite a useful skill set, despite it's origin.

He cocked his head as he watched her jump onto the building. These people and their over-powered skills, being able to do everything well. Amri only had powers in two areas. He was much more fair. He could see why humans would want other types out of the way of their society, they were rather obnoxious. He could've gone on to have a normal life. He had just turned eighteen when he'd been sent here...all his life he'd been planning what he wanted to do when he was eighteen. He'd apply to have guardianship over Yuliya be taken away from his parents and given to him, and they'd move away from their parents' mansion and just have a nice house out in the country with all the pets Yuliya wanted and she could grow all the sunflowers she wanted...but now he was here, and he needed to make sure no one knew his age so he wouldn't be taken away and leave Yuliya here.
He scanned the side of the building and around him. If he could get up high enough he could jump to the top. He was good at jumping, not just because of his strong legs but he had also been captain of the varsity basketball team and he would've gotten a scholarship based on it, which was great since the highest grade he'd ever gotten in high school was a C+ in chemistry. What he did find was a dumpster up against the side of the building right by, so a smirk came to his face as he pushed it up against the first building with ease and climbed on top of it. Preparing himself and facing away from the building, he leaped up and grabbed the gutter that was just under the roof and flipped himself upwards so that he landed feet first on the roof. He looked at her with a twinkle in his eye, “Miss me?”

Ava gave a tiny shrug, "Not bad." she said. "It almost impresses me." she slid of the roof head first, pushing off with her hands and doing a backflip so she too landed perfectly on her feet. She remembered Jeremy teaching that move to her in their last few weeks together. They had been at a construction site, which was empty as it was night. She loved the way he could climb the steel frames of the building, learning everything she could about balancing and keeping care of herself. Ava hadn't thought about that night for a while, but she wasn't going to let it distract her.
"So. You can jump on buildings. Anything else you can do? I bet you couldn't take me on." she challenged, a twinkle in her own eye. Ava liked practising her moves, she practised them daily with a few of her more senior members of her gang-as well as alone. She didn't mind using soft blows or not actually breaking bones if it meant she kept up on her skills. She walked backwards a bit, smiling, "Unless, of coarse. You're too scared of a little blonde like me. I promise I won't bite." she laughed, with no doubt at all in her mind that she'd be able to take him on. She still didn't feel like killing him, as long as he continued to be a source of entertainment.
