Haru, for the most part, dresses in whatever be can find that fits. He hates clothes which are too big or too small and will not wear shirts with faces on them. He wears a necklace with a smooth rock for a pendant. It was given to him by his best friend Eliza growing up who told him it was a lucky charm that would help keep the frightening thoughts away. It hardly helped, but he still wears is constantly and will absently fiddle with it when his hands are not occupied.Appearance:
Haru's mother was half Japanese and his father was fully Japanese. Due to the genetics he inherited, he came out looking very much like he was from that part of the orient. He has dark brown hair with a small amount of reddish highlights which extends a few inches past his ears. Overall he is very handsome and though not made of muscle, he makes no claim to weakness. He is more leanly built and has light-colored skin.History:
Haru was the only child of two telepaths. Though his grandfather was a concentcor who could control her powers, but she died when he was four leaving him with no mentor. Until age six he was a relatively normal child, happy, healthy, and showing signs of musical talent even at such a young age. All that changed when he was six and he began sensing people's emotions on a higher level than the average human. Then the mood swings kicked in and gradually escalated to a bipolar disorder. By the time he was ten, he had developed a minor split-personality disorder. It got to the point that he would beg his parents to lock him in room if he even became the slightest bit angry so that he would not hurt them, to bind him if he became even the slightest bit sad lest he fall into such deep depression as to wish harm upon himself. His parents became frightened of their son, and their son became frightened of himself. In junior high the stress of heightened hormones only made things worse. His best friend Eliza was the girl at the bottom of the food chain at their school. A cold anger grew within him as he heard both boys and girls say terrible things about her. That was when the homicidal thoughts kicked in. Near the end of eighth grade a group of boys were pushing her around behind the school. When she tried to push back one pinned her to the wall, called her a whore, and threatened to beat her if she didn't do as he said. The other boys laughed but their laughs were cut short when Haru came onto the scene with a cold rage burning within him. Eliza tried to get him to walk away, she begged him not to hurt them because she was afraid of what he would do in his current state of mind, but he did not listen. All he knew was that that boy had hurt his friend. Haru broke his neck and a sharp glance at the others sent them running away, some taking out their cell phones to call the police. Haru stood there for a moment and then his rage vanished, immediately leaving him in an emotional mess. He collapsed to the ground and stared at his shaking hands. Eliza refused to approach him. She was frightened and that only made it worse for Haru. He put out his hands and said, "Eliza, p-please calm down." Instant she became calm but a moment later the calmness broke and left her even more frightened them before. She turned and ran; she ran away as fast as she possibly could. A few days later he was shipped off to Sangvene. Why they were convicted:
He murdered a classmate in a homicidal episode of anger in either grade for bullying his best friend.Years in the Camp: One year
Life in the Camp:
Haru is one of the few people who lived in the cabins. He has countless locks on the door and window. Over the past year he converted the extra bunks into storage shelves. He has a guitar which he plays when he is worried about losing control of his emotions. He only leaves to get food and water or to wash himself.Personality:
Haru has several sides to his personality which he swings between with little to no warning. His natural state is that which is fully in control of his emotions and aware of reality. He used to be light-hearted but not he is mostly frightened and sad, seclusive out of fear of hurting anyone he becomes close with. Then there is the side of mania. He sometimes falls into episodes of mania sometimes mixed with schizophrenia. When this happens he will either draw or write excessively with little purpose or laugh and dance. These are usually followed by a deep depression which leaves him hiding in a corner and crying his eyes out, sometimes even cutting or hitting himself. When he is angered he sometimes hurts or yells at even those he cares about in a rage. The last side of him is that which shows up rarely and is usually triggered by extreme cold anger. This is his homicidal side. When he falls into this state he usually has a target and will do anything to see his target dead. This is the side he is the most afraid of.Likes:
