--------Daphne stared down at the small device in her hand, only an inch in diameter. For the past week she had been working, correcting errors, perfecting its design. Twice she had to start over practically from scratch but at last the tracker was done. All she needed was a test subject. Under normal circumstances she might have asked Tony, but with the new recruits and growing tension between gangs, his job hardly allowed any free time. --------Over in the corner of the main room, her eyes caught sight of Sam Perkins, drawing as usual. Gently placing the tracker in a small box, she put it in her jeans pocket and made her way to the seemingly unoccupied gang-member. These days it was hard to find anyone who wasn't busy. --------Daphne lay the box down on the piece of paper Perkins was tapping her pencil on. "Free to help test a tracker?" she asked, her tone almost monotone with just enough intonation to indicate it was a question.

Shadow blinked at the approaching woman, Daphne was her name if her memory served her correctly. She worked a lot with Tony and Shadow didn't really know enough about her to say she particularly liked her or disliked her. She could tell she was directing her attention over to Shadow. She was about to give a sharp retort 'Go Away' before Daphne spoke instead.
She pursed her lips and glanced down at the box on top of her pad of paper. She looked from the box and back up to Daphne with a sigh, "I am." she replied, her tone with her own dryness about it, though it was hardly close to the monotone voice that seemed to come from her fellow rebellion member. "Though, to say I want to would be a lie." she added turning in her chair to face Daphne as she crossed her arms across her chest. She doubted she had a choice but Shadow wasn't one to simply to what everyone told her without at least making it clear it wasn't her choice.

--------She was honest, Daphne had to give her that, but the lack of clarity in her answer was a touch on the irritating side. It annoyed her when people ignored implications and chose to take her words literally, not an inch more or an inch less, even though she herself was guilty of doing this quite often. She and this Perkins, or Shadow as she was known to those inmates who were not so nosy as to go poking about administrative files in their free time, shared some similarities. They both wanted to be left alone the majority of the time and both wanted social interaction, when needed, to be brief and to the point. A difference, though, was in the variety of defiance in their attitudes. --------Daphne sighed and reached down to pick up the box, pocketing it again. "You're choice, tell me straight. Are you willing to help or not?" she asked, her tone a bit more irritated. Though there were others who could help her, she was not fond of wasting time which could be spent on other projects.

Shadow looked from her notepad to Daphne, then dropped her pencil with a shrug and a sigh. "Fine. It's not like I have anything better to do." she stood and pushed the chair back and held out her hand to take the tracker from her. At least Daphne's presence would be remotely tolerating, she wasn't a chatty person and she also didn't look for more social interaction then was needed. It would be good to get out, and... maybe Shadow just needed something to occupy her time? "So you need me to, what? Walk around with that thing? So you can watch where I go?"

--------Daphne appreciated the quick compliance. It saved her having to hunt down someone else to be her assistant. Tossing her a handheld transceiver and setting the box back down, she began explaining. "That," she pointed to the transceiver, "Has a range that covers the entire camp from any given point within the walls. I don't know the exact range due to the obvious inability to preform tests outside the camp. What you will be doing is taking that box," she pointed to the box, "and putting it in your pocket or bag, somewhere safe, and then walking to the farthest corner of the camp. When you reach the wall or if you run into trouble, use the transceiver and I'll call you back or send help. In that box is a small tracking device I am testing the range on. I will be monitoring your position the whole time and will contact you if the signal dies before you reach the wall." She stopped for moment to think before continuing. "Take the safest rout you know and go to the north east corner. If you see guards, wait for them to move elsewhere on their patrols. If you see alliance members, hide. If you see anyone else, it's your choice. Questions, comments, concerns?"
