Shifts where just getting ready to change over, one guard would leave and the other would take over for the next few hours. It was a basic routine that changed shifts only once in a while. Boe had one hour before he had to go, and plenty of things to go and do before hand. He was just now getting out of the shower, as he walked out to the living room in shorts and a t-shirt he smiled down at the little girl and scooped her up quickly into his arms. Leaning forwards he smiled and gave her a soft kiss on the nose and carried her over to the couch.
"You be good while im gone okay, Dont let any of the others do anything bad either your in charge okay. Ill be back home in a few hours."
He spoke softly to her and gave a cheerful smile as she gave a soft nod of her head to him and returned his smile. He may not have overly enjoyed this job all the time, since the place was full of kids who where way to strong and powerful for him to feel overly safe, but the pay was good and it kept his small family taken care of which was all he desired.
His wife was not gone headed back to New york saying they needed time apart and she needed to think blah blah. He agree'd and let her go. Though refused to let her take their little girl. She was his world now which was strange since he never pictured having a child or doing half the things he was doing now.
After sitting her down he headed to the bedroom and began to get ready. He was not required to wear a uniform or anything so that was rather nice, All he had to do really was sit here and do nothing. It over all was boren. But then again at least it was safer this way.
After getting ready he unlocked the small safe near his bed and grabbed the desert eagle from the small box and a few magazines then holtered them and finished getting ready for the long shift. Heading back out to the main room he offered a wave and walked out the door.
Looking up he took notice of the clear sky with the sun just starting to set it was a pretty good night over all. Headed out towards his post he relieved the guy their and looked around a bit. Not much seemed to be going on and he let out a soft sigh.
Looking back around a hour or so later he decided to go for a walk and check the road. Moving quickly he dropped down from the wall and landed gently on the ground. He was able to move pretty quickly around having been good at parkour and free running as a teen. It was the one skill he found rather useful here.
Walking just pass the main gates he began to walk down the small road keeping his eyes out for anything strange. And one hand kept a firm grip on his pistol. He had learned one thing here, and that was to be prepaired at all times. Since he was out numbered and these teens where far stronger he had to be sure to keep his eyes and ears open at all times while outside the gate.
