Creation: Born as a Kelpie.
Diet: They can eat regular human food, but are known to enjoy children and people.
Abilities:

• Adhesive skin.
  
• Ability to take the form of a human or horse.
  
• Strength of 10 horses, endurance of more.

Weaknesses:

• Speaking Christ's name.
  
• Anyone who can get their bridle has complete control of them.
  
• Most vulnerable when away from large bodies of water.

Strengths:

Human flesh tends to lengthen their lifespan.

Looks:

Kelpies are easily spotted when among humans when you know what you're looking for: reeds in their hair, tend to always look wet.

Traits:

They are not good creatures. Kelpies are known to be violent and aggressive (more so in females than males) and tend to hate humans because of how they treat their swamps and marshes.

Manifestation:

Their powers manifest at adolescence. They start out like any baby horse with a slightly higher dependency on being in water and then eventually learn how to shapshift and start hungering for human flesh, yaddya yaddya.

Culture:

Kelpies are lone horses, so to speak. You usually only find one living by itself unless it takes up a mate. Even then they're only together long enough for the female to become with child and then gets left on her own.

History:

The rumors of a mythical water horse that devoured children started in Scottland in the very early 1600s. It wasn't long before similar rumors popped up all over Europe and parts of Asia. They were thought to be a myth by many, just stories to scare children away from the swamps. Soon they were almost forgotten. However, that all changed when the supernaturals were unveiled.
