Yuliya was standing outside the library, summoning up the courage to do something she knew she'd never be able to do since she had tried before and always given up and gone back to her camp. She knew the Rebellion lived at the library, she knew they were not the type of gang to kill her on sight, she knew that they were the rivals of that most hated gang, the Night Walkers. But that didn't mean she was less scared. Just because they wouldn't kill her didn't mean she wasn't scared. They were still people. They still were people that would expect her to talk to them. People that would try to trick her and expect her to know basic etiquette. People who would expect her to shake hands or say hi or tell them what her name was without a five minute pause. It was terrifying. She was staring at the building that smelled like classical music, the building that wasn't symmetrical at all and it all dizzied her.
Why would she want to go in in the first place? It was simple: it was a library, and she wanted books. They couldn't possibly need all the books in that place. She could even bring them back, she could use it as an actual library. She just wanted a few books to read since she missed reading books badly and all she had were a few outdated encyclopedias that Amri had brought for her, but she was going through them fast. All she needed to do was go in. Should she just try to sneak in and take some books and sneak out? Or should she specifically try to find someone and ask? Both ideas were horribly fear-inducing to her.
So she stood completely still maybe about fifty meters from the entrance to the library, with Ember glued to her side and Coconut sitting on her shoulder. Coconut was gently urging Yuliya to go in, saying that she could do all the talking. Coconut didn't seem to realize that Yuliya was the only person who could understand her words. Ember was looking all around them to make sure no one sneaked up on them. And Yuliya was staring at the doors with her wide eyes, willing herself to take that first step even though she knew she'd never take it.

Loki was at the library for the first time in a while. He prefered to stay away and not deal with them. But he had been requested to come this time. Some meeting about the upcoming attacks that where being rumored around the place. He was the newest member but also one of the most powerful as well, which Is why they had requested him to come join the meeting. He would have told them no if not for the fact he still needed them for now.
It was interesting to use a gang to get what he wanted, And yet it seemed none of them had a clue of his intentions. But then again he did not talk with any one either. He was in human form during the meeting but as soon as it was over he shifted forms his aura spinning violently around as he changed. With a low growl he said farewell and took off to the top of the building. He scaled the thing easily until he reached the top and laid down at the edge.
His yellow eyes watched the area below and he kept relaxed. He liked it up their since no one bothered him. And the warmth felt rather good against his body. His eyes snapped down as a small girl walked up to the building. She was just standing their though. What was she doing? And why was she here. He did not bother to let himself be known yet, instead he stalked her from high above keeping a eye on her for a good deal of time.
He took in every detail about her, She had a small squirel and a fox with her. Which meant some how she had an affinity with animals. Which was strange to see. Not to many beings had such a gift. He was amused by her behavior. She wanted to go in but it seemed like her body was frozen still. He kept his eyes on her for a bit longer before moving quickly down the building and landing infront of her. Landing a few feet away. His paws hitting the ground leaving a loud thud and dust all around him as he let out a soft growl at her.
He was not going to eat her, Or even attack her. Their seemed no point just yet. He actually wanted to find out what it was she wanted here. A gang like this was not a place for some one who seemed like her. It was dangerous and not of the best company. And in truth she seemed pathetic. Lowering his massive head down he stared her directly in the eyes and waited for her to make some kind of move, whether talking or running. He highly doubted she was going to attack.

At first Yuliya's eyes widened and she took an instinctive step back when a giant saber-tooth tiger leaped in front of her, after all, it was big and scary. But that was only her initial response. Her second response was confusion. A saber-toothed tiger? Yuliya has spent practically all of her life reading about animals and even someone who hadn't done that would know that saber-toothed tigers were extinct. Was this a dream? Was she hallucinating? No...she was in this camp, and she'd seen stranger things in this camp than a supposedly extinct animal. Maybe it was just her lucky day. Maybe there were dinosaurs and dodo birds around the corner.
But finally she came to her actual reaction. If something was an animal, she had no reason to be afraid of them. Most animals liked her, and if they didn't like her, they at least wouldn't kill her. A light smile came to her face as she cocked her head and regained her distance by taking that one step back and walking forward. Both Ember and Coconut were a bit nervous but Yuliya knew she would make sure nothing happened to them. They were just scared because their instincts told them that a creature of such size could eat them easily. But Yuliya was not worried about being eaten, in fact, most of her worry disappeared altogether as she made a soft clucking noise in the back of her throat. “Hello beautiful,” she said in an admiring tone. She was hoping to be friendly towards them and she could offer them food though she didn't have very much on her. It always brightened her day when she was able to speak with an animal she'd never met before, and she always hoped to leave them just a little bit happier than they were before they saw her. Maybe she could do the same now. She'd forget about the books.

He was slightly confused, No one ever called him that, It was rather strange actually. Most people feared something his size and yet here she was all happy and giddy to see such a thing. He guessed it was something to do with affiliation to animals. And the strangest thing was the way she acted and her voice was actually soothing and drew him in.
This whole thing was strange. What was she? Even though he was a demon still most of his behaviors and insticts where based off his animal side. Which was going to be the reason he would feel such a strange draw towards her. Soon after she spoke he stretched his body out and laid down infront of her resting his head on his paws. This was the least threatening thing he could do. And strangly enough his body wanted to be docile towards her.
"Good morning little one.. I must ask what are you? You have a very strange calming atomosphere around you. "
He was very good at being blunt and honest. Never one to dance around asking a question. His voice was in human and very calm and gentle. Though gruff and powerful at the same time. Yawning slightly his mouth opened wide and then shut and his eyes moved back towards her. He was extremely curious about her now.

He spoke out loud, which made Yuliya sure that this was a real thing and he was just a type of supernatural she'd never heard of, which made her curious as to what he was. Maybe he was simply an animal who could talk to everyone as opposed to just her and people like her, that would be cool. But it almost broke her heart when he called her little one, that was what Apollo and Luna had called her back home...she missed them so much, Apollo's gruff, angry voice and Luna's sarcastic yet soothing one...they had taught her practically everything she knew about how to treat animals, she'd had them since she was two years old...and she might never hear them call her little one again...
No, she had to focus on this one, he deserved her full attention. He asked her what she was, which was a normal enough question. Many animals wondered what ability she had that allowed her to talk to them, and she never refused to answer. “I am an animal elemental,” she explained simply, “it means animals see me less as a human and more like one of their own.” Moving slowly, she took a couple of steps forward to kneel down in front of him and extend her hand for him to sniff it. Even as an animal elemental, animals always felt more calm after they'd sniffed you, it gave them practically all the information they'd ever need about you. It could tell him what she was, her gender, her age, and where she'd been recently and what kind of people she'd been around.

He was rather content. Though still awefully curious about her. It was not very often he was around some one who could so easily calm him. Then again he was normally only hostile towards those who where towards him. And she was as far from threatening as you could get.
She explained what she was in a simply quick phrase. He had herd of elementals just not ones like her. It was always nice to meet a new creation of this world. As she kneeled down infront of him his eyes followed her movements. And a feline like smile moved over his massive maw. He looked her over for a quick moment and sniffed around her hand then looked back towards her.
Even though he was far from being a normal animal he had their instincts. Though most where enhanced. Who ever she was their was not even a single sign of her being harmful to any one. Which made him wonder what she was doing in this place. He guessed it was human fear that brought her here. And just the thought of it upset him. If something was different to them it needed to go away in one way or another. It was no wonder so many hated their kind.
"Its nice to to make your aquaintance little one. Im Loki a youkai or animal demon.. which ever is prefered. You can let your friends know I wont eat them.. "
He spoke softly still keeping his eyes locked on her. He figured for her being a animal elemental she felt most safe and secure around animals. So knew it would most likely only frighten her if he was to change now. Either way he did not mind being in this form and actually prefered it.

Yuliya nodded though she didn't know what a youkai was, for although she was knowledgeable in many subjects, from ancient Asia to fungi identification, she did not know much in the way of supernaturals. They were not something there were many books on so the best way to learn about them was to meet them...unless there was some registry here at this camp. The idea of there being a registry of the supernatural species excited her greatly, though she knew she'd never be able to get her hands on one. It was probably something only the guards were allowed to have. Someone who wasn't her might have the guts to try and steal one, but she was her.
But no matter what type of animal supernatural he was, he probably wanted something to eat. She couldn't think of anyone in this place who would refuse food, herself included. “Would you like something to eat?” she asked, rummaging around in the bag around her shoulder for something that would be more appealing to a carnivore, eventually coming to a can of albacore, which she took out and laid in front of him. Ember and Coconut, though nervous, edged forward to be by her and looked at the creature with curiosity. They had never seen a saber-toothed tiger either and it was probably rather unwieldy to them. But Yuliya smiled and hoped that he would accept the food so that she could know she helped another animals not go to sleep with an empty stomach.

He kept relaxed and just laid still keeping his eyes on the little group infront of him. His tail moved back and forth slowly. He could have just shut his eyes and gone to sleep at this point he was feeling extremely relaxed. Which was strange in a way since had never felt relaxed any where except back in greenland. But then again her powers to work with animals most likely held a pretty good amount of reason to why he was being so docile.
He watched the two little critters walk up closer and look at him. He had often forgotten his animal was now long extinct. The thought of how they must be feeling made him laugh a little inside his head. As she offered the food and placed it in front of him his eyes moved down to it and then shook his head softly. He was not one to take things from others. Especially in a place where it was hard enough to get food or supplies as it was.
Using a paw he softly pushed it back towards her and gave a smile while shaking his head. "Thank you for the generous offer little one but you need to eat more then myself. And to be honest.. I prefer fresh meat... "
That reminded him. He needed to go hunting soon. Maybe while out he would find something for her. He often hunted prey though late at night. Whether it was animals or people either one was on his list. He guessed though some one like her would not eat meat, so maybe fruit would be something useful.

Yuliya was a little bit disappointed when he didn't accept the food, though she clearly saw his reasoning. Of course he wouldn't want some tiny can of preserved food, what was she thinking? Why did she have to be so stupid all the time? Even with animals she could be wrong. He probably thought she was incredibly dumb, she had worsened his opinion on people when it was her goal in life to change animals' opinions on people, at least on her, so that she would be able to help them. How many saber toothed tigers was she going to meet in her life? She'd never get this opportunity again and she'd already screwed it up.
“I am sorry...” she said with a downcast look at the ground. It was a wonder that even animals could stand to be around her. If it wasn't for her powers she would probably be completely alone and forget how to speak even. She'd probably have been sent to one of those asylum places. She had visited one once with her parents but her parents had decided against it in case someone found out that the wealthy Dukhkin' family had a member in the asylum, it was better to lock her up at home and pretend she didn't exist. She started slinking backwards, assuming he would want her to leave immediately after insulting him with such a petty offering.

He watched her attitude change, She seemed so upset with herself, as though she had made some huge mistake. He had to admit she was a rather fragile little girl. He did not say any thing right away even after she had said she was sorry. Really why would she be sorry? Unlike most she offered help and was kind. In this world though he figured her ways of acting would be seen as strange or weird. Which they where not at all.
As she moved back slightly as though she was about to leave he pushed himself up with his fron paws and stood up. Taking a few steps forward he stopped only inches away from her and looked down. He stared down at her for a few second then laid back down right beside her. His tail swished back and forth as his large body curled up and relaxed so he would get more comfortable.
"Try not and be so stressed little one. you have not offended me nor have any worries while im here. So might I ask though... Why are you here? You cant be here to join the gange... So leaves one other reason why any one comes to a library. A book perhaps?? "
That was the most reasonable reason he could come up with. And if that as the case he would escort her inside to find a few of of her choice. He highly doubted their was going to be any one that would say anything. Especially with him being close by.

She hadn't offended him? Really? A smile came to her face, she hadn't screwed up what would be probably the one time she was able to talk to an extinct species. It was also calming to her that he said she shouldn't have any worries...she was always worried. She wasn't very good at fighting, her brother had taught her a few things. How to throw a punch. How to leap on someone's back from behind and strangle them. What were the weakest points on a person's body. He'd had her practice on him many times, but even then she wasn't sure she'd ever have the courage to use them on a real person, and many people here had such amazing fighting powers. Her powers had nothing to do with fighting. The most she could do was ask an animal to fight for her but she would never do that, they might get hurt. But he didn't seem like he would get hurt, which was calming to her.
“Yes I...I miss reading,” she said softly, looking down. She knew people would probably think she was frivolous to be concerned about books when she should just be thankful that she was still alive and still was able to eat every once in awhile. She even had the added benefit on having a person she could depend upon with her, which was definitely part of the reason she was still alive. Lots of people here would think as far as lives in this place went, she had a pretty good one. But her heart ached for books, she longed to turn the pages of really any type of book. “Are...A-Are you in the...Rebellion?” she asked.

He had noticed his words seemed to relax her a good deal. And that idea actually was rather soothing. It was nice to help some one rather then just tear them apart. Oddly enough though she was more human then most other supernaturals and yet he actually enjoyed her company. Even if she was a bit on the strange side, He found her rather interesting.
He never was the type to care about power or judge others on their strengths. But more on the way they handled themselves. Even though this little one before him showed to be weak her intents where no where near selfish. And that was the reason he respected her. She did not have to be strong, or crude to deserve such a thing, and from all he could tell just from their short meeting was that she was extremely self-consious.
That must have come from a part of her past, One he was curious of but would never ask her about. Same as he never expected others to ask about his. It was something no one needed to know about. A story never to be told. As she spoke he looked up towards her and gave a soft smile at her response. So she did like books, which proved that she was not dumb not in the least.
And her question of course was fair enough that he would answer her. Though he did not overly see himself as being part of any group. In terms he was part of the rebellion though. "Well you could say that.. thoug.. more or less its for my own personal gain rather then theirs. But.. Since you came all this way why dont you come inside? Dont worry no one will bother you."

Gang members were scary to Yuliya, because she knew they could easily kill her. The Night Walkers were full of vampires that made her sick and the Alliance was huge and the Rebellion was full of vicious people who stopped at nothing to cause trouble. The Pack wasn't as scary to Yuliya because she could calm wolves down and so far the Earth Circle hadn't bothered her, but if any of them ever decided that she was a nuisance she would be gone, just like that. They all had their hideouts and secret meetings and weapons...and there were so many people. She liked her own little gang of her brother and Ember and Coconut, it was a nice gang.
So going into the territory of one of the more violent gangs? Yuliya was sure the fear was vibrating off her body. Sure, she'd been standing there contemplating going in, but she hadn't for a second believed she would actually go in. Nor was she sure that if she went in they wouldn't be bothered. Gangs bothered people, that's what they did. They would question her and she'd have to have an answer. She was not good at answering questions, she wasn't even good at telling people her name. She didn't think he would trick her, but he was not the only member of the Rebellion and she doubted there were many others who were animals. Maybe they would capture her and prevent her from seeing her brother.
But she did want a book...and she never distrusted an animal. She was just scared, just scared...she should do it. She would be happy and she would be safe, she had to believe that. “Oh...okay...” she said nervously, knowing she would keep very close to him the whole time. Hopefully he was right that no one would bother them, because she was not sure she'd be able to keep her composure if somebody did.

He smiled as she agree'd, well as much of a smile as a giant cat could give. Turning softly on his back paws e turned around and motioned with his head for her to follow as he began to walk slowly towards the building. The place was not huge or anything but bigger then most the others. It was a perfect place to relax at, unless another gang decided to try and start some issues, but in that case he would just end that.
As he walked up he nudged the door, pushing it open as he looked around inside. His eyes scanned the room in front of him, From what he could see no body was around yet so their should be no issues. Moving forwards he headed straight in but looking back every so often to be sure she was still directly behind him.
As he walked he took her through a few halls and then eventually came to another door. Most of the books had been moved, and stored in this one room. Why he was not sure but the shelfs where they had been where filled with the food and weapons they had gathered over the past few years, and where also being used as shelfs for members clothing and such.
Reaching the locked room he placed a massive paw against it and pushed forwards, making a loud cracking sound as the hindges bent and finally the door gave in and opened. Inside rested in piles all the books that had once been organized around the place, but now where more used for starting fires or other things. Not to many around here ever decided to read.
"Feel free little one to take a few of them, I doubt any one is going to really mind. "

Yuliya followed him nervously. She hadn't been indoors for such a long time. It was scarier for her, she couldn't just run in any direction she wanted to, she could get lost, she could be stuck inside forever and never see Amri again. What if that actually happened? Her breathing was rapid as she looked around herself wildly, keeping one hand against one of the walls in an effort to steady herself. Everything was all wrong here. The walls were not at a 90 degree angle from the floor, she could tell, why was that? What was going on? She took a deep breath and skittered along faster, avoiding even thinking about it or she would be stuck there forever, trying to right that minor flaw.
But most of her worries disappeared when she saw the books. They weren't taken care of very well, they were shoved haphazardly into this little room, they were dusty, and smelled of mildew, but it was a wonderful smell to her. Nothing mattered as long as the words were still on the pages, she just couldn't believe her luck. She would have taken every book in the room had she been able to carry them, but she limited herself to the minimum. Some Ernest Hemingway books, history textbooks, a thesaurus, Barbara Kingsolver, and some books about animals. It made a sizeable stack, but each one would be worth it. Happiness was sparkling in her eyes. “Thank you...” she said quietly, barely able to contain herself.
