Jessica shook her head. It had been a long, long day. Or at least, a long night. A couple of the rebellion members were caught by some members of the Alliance earlier that morning. Luckily none of them were killed, but a few of them were pretty seriously injured. Since Jessica had been dubbed a 'healer' amongst them, she had to clean them up. Not that she really minded, but she had been planning to climb up onto the roof of the library and practice some dance before sunrise. Not that that happened much anymore.
She sat beside a rather large boy, probably seventeen years of age and was already covered in scars. He had a rather large gash cause by a knife down his arm that was covered in blood. Now it was all cleaned and wrapped up tightly in gauze. She tied it in a knot and looked at him with stern eyes. "Now. I'm going to suggest you stay away from sharp objects and try and take it easy the next couple weeks. Come find me if you suspect infection-okay?" she said softly with a smile as the man stood and left.
The main floor of the library was busier than usual. Mostly people tended to stick to the top floor, where everyone slept and such. But today, it was pretty busy. Jessica wasn't that sure why, but she wasn't sure she cared really either. She just wanted to get out of this god-forsaken camp and go home to her friends.
She gave a little sighed and wiped her hands on her pants. Now what? The sun had already risen and it was nearly noon now. She was a little tired as well, should she head upstairs and have a nap? Or would someone talk to her... She looked to the stairs with uncertainty in her gaze, but didn't really want to sleep right now anyways...

----------Hanako was in a bad mood. She came back to the library with her head down and her shoulders slumping, feet shuffling across the floor. Her hair was less bright than usual and one could almost see a gloomy aura about her. How on earth was she going to find a way to motivate that man to fight her? He was unfazed by being provoked and she wasn't the type to blackmail. She had to make him hate her enough or be curious enough about her power, but nothing was coming to mind as to how she could achieve either of this goals. ----------She continued her gloom-stricken walk until she came to the stairs where Jessica stood, staring up them in an indecisive. manner. "Hi Jesi-chan," she muttered before slumping down onto the stairs to sit. She put her head in her hands and ran her fingers through her pink hair. She was frusterated with herself, and even more frusterated with Baka-san, but it did not mean she was ready to give up talking to her friends. She loved talking to her friends. She held some hope that it might lift her spirits.

Jessica didn't know what Jesi-chan meant, but she figured that Hanako meant her. She sat beside her on the staircase with concern in her blue eyes. She seemed to be really... unhappy. Why was that? She was pretty sure she hadn't done anything. "You alright? You seem a little ruffled today. Something happen?" she asked, she was actually happy to have an excuse not to go upstairs alone. Now she could talk to somebody.
She was always glad to talk to people whom were not in the best mood, because they always seemed to calm around her. She wasn't sure if she was just a really relaxed person, or if there was something supernatural about it. She knew what she was supposed to be-but she didn't actually know a whole lot about it. She was simply labelled a supernatural, given a species and thrown in here. She supposed her features and subtle abilities made her not entirely human-but just because she broke into a house didn't make her dangerous to humankind. Any kid could have done it, but because she did she was thrown in the middle of war. It made her upset sometimes, but she had learned to get over it. She just wanted to get outta here.

----------Hanako's mouth turned into a pout and her brows lowered in frustration as she thought about it. Her frustration was not towards Jessica and not even completely towards the idiot whom she was trying to provoke or motivate. It was primarily towards herself. She was frustrated with herself for not being able to come up with a good way to get him to fight her. Unlacing her fingers from her hair she began fiddling her hands about each other. ----------Finally she spoke, not looking up at her fellow gang member. "I challenged someone to a fight and he said he would fight me if I make it worth his while," she grumbled. She paused before suddenly standing up and turning to face Jessica. "He started it anyway! He was insulting me and the gang and he was trying to act all high and mighty and strong so all I wanted to do was prove my strength and being honor to our gang name!" She got more and more worked up as she spoke, dramatic gestures to accompany her mini-rant. "But then he goes and brushes me off, treats me like a fool, and tells me I'm not worth his time!" She crossed her arms. "So... so patronizing and insulting," she grumbled in conclusion.

Jess frowned, she didn't understand a need to fight someone. She was always the type to skitter around people rather than address people outright. The idea of trying to pick a fight with someone was as absurd and foreign to her as... being heavier than someone. It just didn't happen with her, but she supposed she could understand the idea that someone might want to... prove herself to him.
This guy, he seemed like a big meanie. He was being mean to Hanako and that wasn't nice. And he was making fun of the best gang there ever was! Jessica tilted her head a little to the side and her brow furrowed a little as she perfected her next words in her head, "Well, it sounds like to me that he's not worth your time. Why would would want to waste your time and thoughts on someone that makes you upset?" she asked, she knew when she didn't like someone she just avoided them. Why spend time with someone you didn't like when you could surround yourself with people you do like?

----------Hanako slumped down again to sit beside Jessica. Something about being near her was calming and Hanako was convinced it had something to do with her species. It could not just be a personality thing. Never the less, the young Hogo-sha could do with a bit of calm right now. "That's just it," she mumbled. "He makes me upset so I want to fight him." The fact that she wanted to fight practically anyone who was of equal or higher strength did not come to mind as she struggled with her frustration. "I need to think of a way to provoke him... or motivate him. Something to make him want to fight me also, but I don't want to actually do anything to hurt him because that would give the gang a bad name. We're rebelling against injustice and evil so I think that mirroring the actions of our captors who we fight against would be hypocritical."
ooc|| Sorry for the short post. :/ I'm having a short-post day.

Jessica bit her lip in thought a little, looking up to the ceiling and leaned her chin into her hand that was propped up by her knee. She gave a long sigh before responding, "Well. I can't . Be nice to him I suppose. He's only annoying you because he likes your reaction. Maybe if you try a different approach, you can switch roles." she asked. By what she meant was he was annoying her because he liked her annoyance. If she didn't show her annoyance, perhaps he'd get annoyed. The pettiness of the entire idea made Jessica laugh. When she didn't like being around someone, she avoided them. The idea of wanting to be near someone she didn't like seemed absurd-but she understood everyone was different.
She remembered a similar circumstance with one of her friends back outside of Sangvene. Yhasmine, a sixteen-year-old whom had been kicked out of her house for getting caught with drugs her ex-boyfriend had planted in her bag, was a good friend whom had a serious temper. This other boy whom was known to roam a certain alley near their hideout, was seriously ticking her off by outshining her in a match of hand-to-hand combat. After a while, she had instructed Yhasmine to simply ignore him when he came around to tease her. He didn't like this much, and after calling her petty, stupid and more yucky names-he eventually challenged her to a rematch. With him very annoyed and cocky, she easily won. She wondered if the same tactics would would with this fellow.

----------Hanako sat there with her chin resting on her folded hands, her eyes squinted shut as she concentrated on her thoughts and emitting a sound which was a cross between a quiet grumble or a monotone hum. She needed to convince him to fight her, yes. But threats and blackmail, though simple, no. She pondered and pondered, hardly hearing what her fellow gang-member was saying when suddenly she leaped up to her feet. ----------"Yosh!" she cried happily, her excitement and energy renewed. "Yes yes that's it!" she turned to face Jessica and grinned broadly. "Thanks. Got to go, talk to you later." With that hurried phrase she ran out of the library. She needed to find Baka-san and ask him to fight her. And she would continue to ask him until he gave up and gave in.
ooc|| And hence Hanako's persistent demands for him to fight her began.
