Rain poured outside like a waterfall, beating against the concrete wall of the cabin. It had rained for three days straight and everyone complained about it. Everyone. Well, everyone except a young woman who almost never said a word to complain with in the first place. No one really knew who she was; hell, no one really knew who anyone was. The camp known as Camp Sangvene had only started accepting inmates a few months ago, and so far things were going exceptionally smooth.
Ava sat in her corner, dressed in grey garments that clashed with her skin's tone and made her look ill. Her hair was tied back in a pony tail and she was huddled up with her back to the cold, concrete wall on her bed. She was thinking, always thinking. One of the other boys was trying to tease her about being so quiet.
"That's all you're going to do all day? Sit there? Like a whimp?" he growled. He was a fellow vampire, actually; they were all vampires. The management insisted on pairing them all together to avoid... "accidents".
Ava ignored the stupid boy, her attention focused solely on herself and no one else.
"How'd you get in here, blonde?! You don't look dangerous to society at all! I bet you can't even catch your own prey."
The stupid, ignorant boy was asking for it, but Ava held her tongue. She slowly twiddled her fingers, trying to push him from mind.
"What a waste of a vampire! Can't even stick up for herself!" the boy laughed, and Ava pounced. Before he could even realize what was happening Ava slammed him to the floor and snapped his arm in two. He cried out and Ava heard the sound of a gun cocking.
"Get back up, put your hands in the air!" the guard snarled. Ava did as she was told and stood, glaring at the boy. She sat down on her bed and crossed her arms. The boy glared as his arm healed, then walked back to his own bed grumbling all the while.
