---------Hanako considered Braylar's words for a moment. The wolves had no doubt been from the Pack. Shapeshifters, especially lupine shapeshifters, did not tend to travel in packs and true wolves were practically nonexistent in the camp. Never the less, the horse-woman had accepted her request to show her to the lake. Though she still did not fully trust her, Hanako wanted to do all she could to be of help to the newcomer. ---------"Of course!" She rose to her feet and in a few quick movements, mostly jumping and hanging, she was down on the ground. She remained a safe distance from Braylar, just in case her friendliness was a facade. "Follow me!" she said brightly before turning and beginning her way towards the lake. As she walked, she kept her senses keen, staying on guard towards unexpected attacks as well as the horse-woman of questionable trustworthiness.

( WITH ICE COLD HANDS ) WHOA DEATH SOMEONE WOULD PRAY COULD YOU WAIT TO CALL ME TIL ANOTHER DAY THE CHILDREN PRAY THE PREACHER PREACHED TIME AND MERCY IS OUT OF YOUR REACH I`LL FIX YOUR FEET TIL YOU CAN`T WALK I`LL LOCK YOUR JAW TIL YOU CAN`T TALKThis was progress! Finally the girl had come down from her perch and Braylar almost felt like she should just pounce on her and be done with it, but now this girl had a purpose other than filling her stomach—bringing her to a better home. Hopefully.
Smiling, Braylar pushed up on the lip of the pool and pulled her naked form out of the pool, water dripping from her hair and pooling at her feet. She hadn’t expected to be walking around in this form so she hadn’t prepared any clothes, but it didn’t really bother her. After all, Braylar was an animal first and a human second. Social etiquette wasn’t really her cup of tea.
“Okay, please lead the way. If you want, I can return to normal and give you a ride? It might be faster,” she offered. Braylar didn’t really think that she was going to get her that easily, but it was worth a shot.
If she could get this girl on her back, she won. . . .
Braylar kept her distance, not wanting to frighten the girl as she passed by, then took up pace behind her, remaining a couple steps behind but within speaking distance at least. “I hope we don’t run into any more of those wolves. They about tore my poor legs apart in the process of chasing me out of the forest. . . ,” she muttered.

---------They tore up her legs? Hanako had not noticed it before, but now she saw the fairly recent cuts and scratches decorating the horse-woman's limbs. Any member of Sangvene who spent any time in the forest could relate to that, some from observation while others received the unfortunate first-hand experience. Looking at her wounds, Hanako suddenly stopped, her cheeks turning almost as pink as her vividly colored hair. ---------"P-put some clothes on!" she ordered, pointing at her. Anyone could see Braylar had nothing with her, not even clothes, so Hanako improvised. She took off her vest and skirt, leaving her with just her form-fitting black shorts, sleeveless pink shirt, and black boots for her attire. Bunching them up into a wad, she threw them at the naked woman. "Here. Put those on. I'll give you better clothes later because I want those back." ooc|| You can see her outfit in the first drawing in this thread. <--- click

( WITH ICE COLD HANDS ) WHOA DEATH SOMEONE WOULD PRAY COULD YOU WAIT TO CALL ME TIL ANOTHER DAY THE CHILDREN PRAY THE PREACHER PREACHED TIME AND MERCY IS OUT OF YOUR REACH I`LL FIX YOUR FEET TIL YOU CAN`T WALK I`LL LOCK YOUR JAW TIL YOU CAN`T TALKBraylar snarled in surprise as a wad of clothes were tossed at her, hastily stripped from the pink-haired girl only moments before. The Kelpie huffed and took a good, long look at the girl. She was a few inches shorter than her, but when Braylar pulled apart the wad of clothes and stared at the skirt and the vest forced upon her, figured that they wouldn’t have too much of a problem fitting her.
“What is it with everyone and clothes?” she muttered, begrudgingly stepping into the skirt. The waistband stretched a little bit to accommodate her slightly wider hips, but it wasn’t too tight and it at least allowed her free movement of her legs.
The vest was a little easier fit, but she didn’t bother zipping it up and let it hang over her chest. It was big enough to just cover the parts Braylar was sure was making the girl uncomfortable, so she left at that and lifted her arms.
“There, is that better?” She rolled her eyes and let her arms drop back to her side.
Waving her hand, she let Hanoko get in front of her and start leading the way. “I have some clothes, thank you very much. If I ever wanted to go into towns I had to have some!” she snorted, feeling irritated again. She had hoped this place wouldn’t be so strict with the whole “cover up your bits and pieces” social rule, but whatever.
Guh! She had to remember her manners if she was going to gain this girl's trust! "But thank you for the offer.”
“You better hope I don’t have to change into my real form, otherwise you won’t be getting these clothes back,” she muttered, looking back at the pool. The lake would be so much better, she hoped.
Manners, Braylar, manners! she scolded herself mentally. She would have to calm down and be polite and courteous if she was going to get this girl to ride on her back eventually. Being irritated wasn't going to help that! “But I will do my best to remember to strip before I do. It's the least I can do.”

---------Hanako nodded, "Thankyou." Hanako waited a moment seeing how the clothes fit her new found acquaintance, and then turned to continue walking in the direction of the lake. The shadows of the trees felt good, helping to ward off against the summer heat. ---------"You are probably very strong," she said. "But there is always somebody who is stronger." Anyone who had been in Sangvene for any amount of extended time knew that. Anyone who knew it and chose to ignore it or deny it was an idiot. She hoped that Braylar was not. "And some of the men here are very very bad men who, if they see you without clothes, will take it as an invitation. There are also races that will eat you and see a lack of clothes, armour, or weapons, as a mark of venerability. In short, it makes you a target."

( WITH ICE COLD HANDS ) WHOA DEATH SOMEONE WOULD PRAY COULD YOU WAIT TO CALL ME TIL ANOTHER DAY THE CHILDREN PRAY THE PREACHER PREACHED TIME AND MERCY IS OUT OF YOUR REACH I`LL FIX YOUR FEET TIL YOU CAN`T WALK I`LL LOCK YOUR JAW TIL YOU CAN`T TALKIt was taking all of Braylar’s self control to keep from back-handing this woman, but lucky for Hanoko Braylar had a lot of self control. She just had to keep reminding herself that this would all end in a meal, hopefully, and that she just needed to patient.
However, the kelpie was slowly starting to wonder if this was all worth it.
“Your concern is appreciated, little one,” Braylar murmured, tilting her head slightly with respect. “however, it is misplaced. I can take care of myself, and welcome whoever wishes to attempt to take my life. I have. . . quite an interesting way of dealing with any vultures. I plan not to go down without taking them with me.”
She left it at that and followed after the pink-haired girl, fidgeting with the vest over her torso, tugging it down when it brushed against her skin uncomfortably. Braylar didn’t like the idea of wearing this girl’s clothes—she had no idea where she’d been, after all! She could have lice for all she knew—but if it made her remain calm and made her happy, then she would deal with the itchiness. Well, the itchiness was all in her head, brought on by thoughts of lice. . . .
“Do we have a plan if wolves attack us? I can run fairly fast, but not as long as wolves can. Or, we could stay and fight,” she droned on, just talking to talk. Lords, how far was this lake?

---------Hanako's curiosity was piqued at the reference to a unique defensive (or offensive for all she knew) ability. Part of her wished to know out of her desire to get to know her new friend while another part, the more sensible side, reminded her that this Braylar girl might not be as kind and gentle as she seemed. ---------"Ah!" she said, her thoughts being pulled back to the task at hand with the mention of the wolves. "We will fight," she said, as if it were the most obvious answer. "If they are weaker than us, we will fight to win. If they are stronger than us, we will fight even harder to win." Without waiting for much of a response to this statement, Hanako changed the subject back. "How do you fight and defend?" she asked casually. "The Hogo-sha use something close to elemental magic, but not." She scowled. "That's why people confuse Shizen Hogo to Elementals all the time."
