RULES AND REGULATIONS
IN GENERAL
IN GENERAL
IN ROLEPLAY
MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR
Please, be nice to your fellow members. Even if you have a problem with another member, be civil-I mean we're all people with feelings and if you need to argue, please do it over pm or talk to a staff member. Also, please keep your prejudices to yourself, we love all people of every shape, size, religion, orientation and country.
OBEY STAFF
We staff know what's up. Please respect us and we will respect you in return. Don't respect us? Well there are consequences for that.
DON'T STRETCH BOARDS
No stretching the board with graphics please. It makes the site look bad, and we don't want to look bad! You wouldn't wear clothes 3 sizes to big for you in public, so neither will we!
ONE CHARACTER PER ACCOUNT
Okay, I know many people have a problem with this, but this is for organizational reasons. I know people say sites do this to look like they have more members, but check to the left! We list how many members we have, we don't do this for looks-we do this to keep the characters known.
DISPLAY NAME
Please have your display name in full caps with at least the first and last name of the character. You may have a middle name or nickname in the middle as long as it is not excessive. For instance, don't have ALBUS PERCIVAL WULFRIC BRIAN DUMBLEDORE, even if it is their full name. It cramps the mini-profile and the listing of online members.
CHATBOX ETIQUETTE 101
ALRIGHTY, Lets get to it. No spamming, No roleplaying, No advertising, No fighting! Done! YAY!
GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION
If possible, plz dnt speke lkie dis. tis horyifying.
REAL LIFE PLAYBYS ONLY
No cartoon characters or anime, please. Playbys are NOT mandatory, but are highly recommended.
MAY CONTAIN COARSE LANGUAGE
I will allow swearing as long as it is not excessive. Some people (like myself) do not like reading through pages of swearing. Please be tasteful.
PG13
Okay, we are a PG13 site people! Which means we have 13 year olds roaming the boards! I'm not picky with graphic violence, but please do not roleplay drug use and sex and if there is sex or drugs, please black it out. If you would like to arrange something offsite on your own, go ahead, but do not link it back to this site please. There are people who don't want to hear about that stuff and I don't want an angry parent coming on and yelling at me because we traumatized their 13 year old daughter! Not only this, but it is against proboards terms of use. I like this site, and I like you, so I want us to be a law-abiding, age friendly site.

[/blockquote][/blockquote]POST LENGTH
We are a quality over quantity site, but weask that your posts be at least average 100 words. I'm not saying every post has to be at least 100 words, I'm saying if you have posts under 100 words over and over again, we may question the quality. We hope that most posts, however, have over 100 words. Please attempt to match the previous poster as well.
POSTING TENSE AND VIEW
Please, to avoid confusion, keep all roleplaying posts in past tence and third-person. This just keeps everything sounding smoothly
NO GODMODDING OR POWERPLAYING
I hope you know what these mean, if you don't here are explanations. If you do know them, don't bother reading the rest of this rule. GODMODDING is the term used to describe when a character is impossible to defeat. Unless the battle's outcome has been preplanned, try and make your character get hurt in some way. Or at least give the opponent chances to attack. Every character has weaknesses, talk about those as well when you are roleplaying. POWERPLAYING is the term used to describe when in a post, one character says what another is doing without the other character stating it and attempts to take some sort of control of the other character. For an example, if two characters are talking, the other character may assume the response. It can be unintentional, but it is still not allowed.
OUT OF CHARACTER TALK
Please attempt to keep this at a minimum, don't start talking about your day in the post. You may say, oh, sorry it's so short or would you like to do a follow up thread? but don't say, lol, it's raining outside. Don't forget to carefully mark OOC talk away from the post. Wouldn't want those getting mixed up, would we?
